Fudgy Brownies
Sweet & fudgy with a touch of salt. Serve these warm with your fave ice cream for the perfect dessert!
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups of butter (2 1/2 sticks)
4 oz semi sweet chocolate
4 oz dark chocolate
3/4 cup 100% cacao powder (use regular cocoa powder if you aren't a dark chocolate fan!)
1 tbsp vanilla extract
6 eggs
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 tsp of espresso powder (brings out the chocolate flavor!)
2 tsp salt (if you used salted butter, just add a pinch)
1 cup flour (I use king arthur's gluten free flour!)
Optional! extra chocolate chips if you like it chocolatey
Flakey sea salt to top it off
Instructions:
Add your butter to a sauce pan over medium heat and brown until it smells nutty & has an amber color. Stir frequently so it doesn't burn!
Once the butter is browned, add all 8 oz of the chocolate & the 3/4 cup of cocoa powder to the warm butter & stir together till smooth.
Stir in the 1 tbsp of vanilla extract & 6 eggs till combined.
Add in the 2 cups of sugar, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1/4 tsp of espresso powder & 2 tsp of salt.
Fold in the cup of flour & extra chocolate chips last!
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes in a 9 x 9 pan. After the first 25 minutes take the brownies out, top with the flakey salt & bake for another 25 minutes. The brownies will come out seemingly underdone! Don't stress you didn't mess up! Let them cool for a bit & then serve with your favorite ice cream. The texture when warmed is like that of a lava cake so it won't be as thick as a normal brownie. Enjoy! <3
