Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups of butter (2 1/2 sticks)

  • 4 oz semi sweet chocolate

  • 4 oz dark chocolate

  • 3/4 cup 100% cacao powder (use regular cocoa powder if you aren't a dark chocolate fan!)

  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

  • 6 eggs

  • 2 cups sugar

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1/4 tsp of espresso powder (brings out the chocolate flavor!)

  • 2 tsp salt (if you used salted butter, just add a pinch)

  • 1 cup flour (I use king arthur's gluten free flour!)

  • Optional! extra chocolate chips if you like it chocolatey

  • Flakey sea salt to top it off

Instructions:

  1. Add your butter to a sauce pan over medium heat and brown until it smells nutty & has an amber color. Stir frequently so it doesn't burn!

  2. Once the butter is browned, add all 8 oz of the chocolate & the 3/4 cup of cocoa powder to the warm butter & stir together till smooth.

  3. Stir in the 1 tbsp of vanilla extract & 6 eggs till combined.

  4. Add in the 2 cups of sugar, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1/4 tsp of espresso powder & 2 tsp of salt.

  5. Fold in the cup of flour & extra chocolate chips last!

  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes in a 9 x 9 pan. After the first 25 minutes take the brownies out, top with the flakey salt & bake for another 25 minutes. The brownies will come out seemingly underdone! Don't stress you didn't mess up! Let them cool for a bit & then serve with your favorite ice cream. The texture when warmed is like that of a lava cake so it won't be as thick as a normal brownie. Enjoy! <3
